POP Users

    Spamming will not be tolerated.  We are not an open smtp relay and having an account here does not allow you to use us as one.  Should you send out unsolicited or bulk e-mail, you will not only immediately loose your account and have any pre-payments confiscated, but be liable to us for any damages resultant from your abuse.  Your e-mail address will be your login@plazasuite.org or your login@yourcompany.com if you are virtually hosted by us.  It is a POP3 server.

Web-Based E-Mail

   In response to user's needs, a web-based mail interface has been provided for the convenience of travelers, those not wishing to bother configuring mail clients, or those who might need to check their mail from crippled or kiosk style terminals at school or at work.

FTP Users

   Quotas will be enforced although you will be given some slack.  Exercise a little forethought to archive or delete unecessary files or request extra disk space in advance should you anticpate the need. The default quota is for 10 Megabytes of disk space. Additional space is available in 5 Megabyte units.

   The uploading of uncompressed binaries is forbidden. A number of useful unix/linux programs are provided in the pub directory and are available to you once you have authorized access. Anonymous FTP is not allowed. Please also note that all transfers and failed login attempts are logged.

Web Hosting

   To begin web hosting, simply create a public_html directory within your home directory and create your index.html page   Be sure to set your permissions correctly as the file must be world-readable.  If you are virtually hosted and anticipate more than a few pages and graphics on your site, you will be made a member of a vhost group and have your website in /vhome/yourcompany.com.

  A cgi-bin is and perl 5.05 is avilable.  However, any scripts must be pre-approved before placing them on your website. Some help may be offered with debugging them but basically you are on their own and if they malfunction or are insecure we won't let you run them.

Shell Access

   We have a limited number of accounts which are granted shell access. Running bots, ircd, or bnc will immediately result in the suspension of your account with a warning.  If you are caught a second time, you will loose your  account and have any pre-payments confiscated.  No appeals, no reconsideration!

   You may choose sh, bsh, bash, csh, or tcsh for your shell. Mail, Pine, ircII, BitchX and talk are installed as are wget and lynx.   You have access to the gcc compiler.  However any cracking or DoS-style programs will be deleted and result in the suspension of your account.    

Backup, Maintenance and Upgrades

   We have three nameservers online so it is extremely unlikely all three would all be down at the same time unless there is a serious problem with both of our internet backbones.  However, any of the shells may be offline briefly for a software or hardware upgrade. You will be given advance notice any time this upgrades are scheduled. 

   Backups are done are regular intervals, but you are advised to backup your directories and maintain your own copies of your websites as we disclaim any liability from the loss of your files in the advent of a catastrophic event. 

 Payments

   Charges will be drawn against your credit card or you will be invoiced on the first of every month.  If you have chosen the invoice method of payment, payment will be due upon receipt.  If you are more than 30 days late with payment or your credit card information is not updated and valid, your account will be suspended.

Assistance

  Technical help will be available to help you configure your mail clients and create your web sites. However, use of the shell or FTP access presupposes a limited knowledge of unix command syntax so that help on other matters will be limited.

  All goods, services and information supplied by Cucin.Net are provided "as is" with no express or implied warranties or representations. Total liability of Cucin.Net in any and all cases will be limited to a proportional refund of received monthly service fee for any period when service was not actually provided.
